The Real Healthy Habits blog is set up to be FRESH--Fun, Realistic, Executable, Simple, and Healthy. Losing weight is an active endeavor.
If you are new to this blog, you may be wondering, “What’s in it for me with this whole Real Healthy Habits thing?
But, you know in the nicest way possible. Good question.
So, What is in it for you?
If you missed it, check out this post. In it, I explain that you will learn to come up with your own health habits that will help you to reach your weight and health goals without dieting. I call it making your own Personal Culture or your own Personal Rules. I’ll teach you how to evaluate what’s working and how to change things when they aren’t. And we’re going to do all that with a FRESH approach. (I know it’s cheesy to use an acronym, but that’s how I roll. Just ask my teenagers.)
So What’s FRESH ?
F—Fun-- First of all, let’s just say it. Life is too short not to have fun. I don’t want to make a blog that isn’t fun, and I bet that you don’t want to read one either. I take my job very seriously, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun along the way. I’ve been told on more than a few occasions that my patients and I are laughing too loud (at my day job). You are going to laugh, smile, and have fun while here at the Real Healthy Habits blog. (If you don’t believe me, check out this super fun graphic and post.)
R—Realistic—I love Pinterest just as much as the next woman, but you need real solutions not just pretty pictures. I get it. I have kids, a day job, and this blog and coaching business. You are just as busy as me. I know I am not alone in this. You need realistic strategies that will make your life easier, and you will get them.
E—Executable—You have read a thousand articles on losing weight with strategies galore. Some might have been helpful, others might have been useless. But none of them will work if you just read them and don’t actually do them. I will be including worksheets or printable with lots of my blog posts. Each Real Healthy Habits post will help you think about, personalize, and incorporate the information and strategies into your life. And ultimately make your life better, one habit at a time.
S—Simple—Reading this blog is adding one more thing to your life, but you will learn to make your life simpler by reading it. How do I know that? Because I’ve met with hundreds of clients, I have read hundreds of books and articles, and I’ve worked to distill key information down to the most essential parts. (Still skeptical? Check out this post.)
H—Healthy—Oh, yeah. It has to be healthy too. Healthy happens to be a requirement.
Do New Things
I am guessing more than you can count. Without a real plan to incorporate good advice, nothing will change. Sure, I give my clients good advice about food and exercise, but my job as a coach is mostly about teaching them how to change.
This blog is an instigator of healthy change. You will need to think new things, and you will have to do new things.
In order for that to happen, a plan needs to be made. This plan will form blog post after blog post or we can work together.
